Answer all incoming calls from citizens and serve as the first point of contact for Public Works–related issues. Listen to concerns, gather needed information, and dispatch calls to the appropriate Public Works field staff based on the issue and urgency. Work closely with Public Works management, including the Public Works Director, Assistant Public Works Director, Utility Billing Coordinator, Superintendents, and Chief Water/Wastewater Operator, to ensure issues are communicated, tracked, and followed up on. Provide updates to callers when needed and help keep communication flowing between the public, field staff, and management.

Knowledge of: Standard office practices and procedures.
Skill/Ability to: Demonstrate proficiency in both oral and written communication; write clear and accurate messages, taking down all information about complaints; operate standard office machines and word processing equipment; apply correct oral and written English, spelling, and punctuation; maintain clerical records and files with precision and accuracy; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
