Concrete Quality Control Supervisor

Summit Precast Concrete, located in Navasota, TX is looking for a full-time Quality Control Supervisor to help lead the Quality Control Department for TxDOT Related Quality Control duties and procedures for a fast-growing company. Must have strong organizational skills, a mind for critical thinking and troubleshooting, strong attention to detail and have the ability to work independently and in a team.

Requires working knowledge of TxDOT Standard Specifications, quality control of concrete, developing and manipulating concrete mix designs, testing of aggregates, experience with quality control procedures and pre and post-pour inspections. Previous experience as a Quality Control Supervisor or Technician would be an advantage. A successful QC Supervisor should have experience with a variety of office software (email and spreadsheets) and be able to accurately handle administrative duties. Ultimately, the QC Supervisor should be able to help ensure the smooth-operating QC Department and help to improve company procedures and day-to-day operation.

QC Supervisor Responsibilities:

• Implementation of company's Quality Control Plan
• Work with TxDOT on a daily basis to ensure all products are fabricated in accordance with TxDOT Standard Specifications
• Oversee the QC Department which includes several technicians
• Reinforcement – Inspecting and ensuring the role of reinforcement and its impact on handling and placement
• Production Practices – An overview of the entire production process from pre-pour to  storage and shipping operations
• Reinforce continuous training programs for technicians.
• Ability to read and understand Mill Reports for all materials, (i.e., Cement, Fly ash, Steel, Rock, and Sand),
• Review and understand plans, shop-drawings, & blueprints
• Communicate with upper management regarding quality standards and improvements that could be made
• Support QC management as needed

Requirements:

• 2 + years in QC Inspection or similar position
• 2 + years in the Concrete Industry
• PCI Level 1 QC Tech, or ACI - Concrete Construction Special Inspector highly preferred.
• ACI Concrete Field-Testing Tech - Level 1
• ACI Aggregate Testing Tech - Level 1
• ACI Concrete Strength Testing Tech
• Working knowledge of TxDOT Standard Specifications
• Proficient computer skills, including a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel
• Full-time, 6:00 am – 4 pm - Or as company deems necessary
