Maintenance Electrician
Job Summary: The Maintenance Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role requires a proactive individual with strong technical skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems, including wiring, circuits, motors, and control panels.
- Install, test, and maintain electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with safety codes and regulations (e.g., NEC, OSHA).
- Diagnose electrical issues using appropriate testing devices and implement effective solutions.
- Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime and improve system efficiency.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Assist with preventive maintenance programs to enhance equipment reliability.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited electrician apprenticeship program preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a Maintenance Electrician in an industrial or commercial setting.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including PLCs, motor controls, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- Proficiency in using electrical testing tools.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations (NEC, OSHA, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or on-call shifts as needed.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various conditions (e.g., heights, confined spaces).
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of automotive electrical systems
- Knowledge of concrete batch plant electrical systems
- Ability to train or mentor junior electricians.
