Camp Allen is a historic retreat, conference, and camp center located on more than 1,100 wooded acres near Navasota, Texas. Founded in 1921 by the Episcopal Diocese of Texas, it serves year-round as a destination for summer camps, retreats, conferences, and special events, welcoming churches, families, nonprofits, and organizations from across the state and beyond.
In addition to being a major retreat and camp destination near Navasota, Camp Allen is also an important local employer. The center has around 100 full-time staff across departments like administration, operations, food service, maintenance, and guest services, supporting year-round operations and seasonal program growth. It also hires additional seasonal and program staff including cooks, outdoor educators, cabin counselors, nurses, and camp support roles, especially during its busy summer camp and outdoor education seasons. These positions provide jobs and training opportunities for local residents and young adults, contributing to the local workforce and economy in the Navasota area.
