Precast Concrete General Laborer

Position Summary

The Precast Concrete General Laborer assists in the production, finishing, and handling of precast concrete products. This role supports daily plant operations by preparing molds, placing reinforcement materials, pouring concrete, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment. The position requires physical labor and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and clean molds for precast concrete production.

• Apply release agents and install reinforcing materials such as rebar, mesh, or inserts.

• Assist with pouring, spreading, and finishing concrete.

• Strip finished concrete products from molds.

• Patch, grind, or repair surfaces as needed.

• Operate basic hand tools, power tools, and production equipment.

• Assist with moving materials using forklifts, cranes, or other lifting equipment (when trained).

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.

• Assist other departments as needed to support production.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50–75 pounds regularly.

• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and walk for extended periods.

• Ability to work in outdoor or manufacturing environments exposed to dust, noise, and varying temperatures.

• Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks.

Qualifications

• Previous construction, manufacturing, or concrete experience preferred but not required.

• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

• Strong work ethic and reliability.

• Willingness to learn precast production processes.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing / industrial precast concrete facility.

• Exposure to concrete dust, noise, heavy equipment, and outdoor conditions.

• Safety equipment required including hard hat, steel-toe boots, gloves, and eye protection.
